Cookie Notice
Effective date: May 10, 2026
Version: 2026-05-10
Draft notice: Update this page whenever you add analytics, marketing, or third-party scripts. Pair it with the Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device. We use cookies and a couple of similar technologies (such as the browser’s session storage) only to operate the Service. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not currently load any third-party analytics or marketing scripts.
What we use today
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, security, and short-lived session state needed for the Service to work | Devise session cookie (signed-in identity, CSRF token, the workspace you last switched into, and any pending team-invitation token carried across sign-in or sign-up) |
| Functional | Stand-alone preferences (e.g. theme) | We do not use functional cookies today. |
| Analytics / advertising | None | We do not use analytics or advertising cookies today. We will update this page before adding any. |
The session cookie above is the only client-side storage Knotr writes. Knotr’s JavaScript does not use browser localStorage or sessionStorage. Once you sign out (or your session expires), the session cookie and the workspace / invitation state inside it are cleared.
Your choices
Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core features. We do not respect a “Do Not Track” signal as a separate setting because we do not run cross-site tracking.
Updates
When we add or remove anything that affects cookies (for example, a new analytics tool or session-storage item), we will refresh the Effective date above and update the table.
